Germany drew 2-2 (0-1) in their home match against Hungary in the Euro 2021 group F.

The visitors Hungary started the match best and took the lead when Adam Szalai scored a goal after 11 minutes, with an assist by Roland Sallai, making it 1-0.

After that the game came to a long, indecisive standstill without either team managing to score. In the 66th minute, Kai Havertz scored a goal, with an assist by Mats Hummels, to equalise for Germany.

Hungary’s Andras Schäfer also scored in the 68th minute as he scored a goal, from a pass from Adam Szalai.

Six minutes left to play, Germany’s Leon Goretzka equalised as he scored a goal. The 2-2 goal was the last goal of the game.

The results in the final round of the qualifiers mean Germany finish second and Hungary finish fourth. Germany secured their spot in the playoffs.
