Fans name their first Premier League love on Twitter on Valentine’s Day

Love is in the air on social media site Twitter on Valentine’s Day, with Premier League fans being asked to name their first English top-flight love.

Supporters have so far named a variety of different players, from the weird and obscure in the likes of Ian Harte and former Arsenal man Kanu to the wonderful and excellent in names such as Frank Lampard of West Ham and Chelsea fame and the league’s all-time top scorer Alan Shearer. As we’ll find out later.

PL fans have been starved of action from the best league in the world in the last couple of days with the two UEFA competitions the Champions League and Europa League taking centre-stage midweek.

However, supporters of the English top-flight will not have to wait too long for their next fix as the league returns in just over a week after a weekend of the Emirates FA Cup.
