West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter this evening as the club’s players head away to Spain for a warm-weather training camp ahead of a free weekend.
The disdain of the Claret & Blue Army centres around the fact that the Hammers would be in Emirates FA Cup fifth-round action this weekend, had they been able to overcome Sky Bet League One basement boys AFC Wimbledon.
Instead, they were dumped out of the world’s oldest football competition with an embarrassing 4-2 defeat at the Cherry Red Records Stadium in the fourth round in late January.
Some Hammers are not happy that the shambolic result meant that the team gets a “nice holiday” away in Spain. Although it must be noted that the Irons have held league leaders Liverpool to a draw and earned a credible Premier League point at Crystal Palace since then.
In scenes similar to the club’s trip to Miami last year, fans on Twitter had their say…
