Manchester City fans have been reacting on the social media site Twitter this evening to the latest antics of their left-back Benjamin Mendy.
The France international, currently still injured despite a return to first-team action in January, was given permission to fly to Paris for the day by manager Pep Guardiola.
However, if the 24-year-old’s Instagram account is anything to go by, the defender has actually flown to Hong Kong, much to the bemusement of his gaffer when questioned about it in his pre-Chelsea press conference.
Guardiola had been completely unaware of Mendy‘s travels to the other side of the world and reacted in a joking manner to the claims of a journalist who told him that the player was in Asia. Before issuing a warning to the France man inciting problems if the rumours were true.
This is not the first time that the defender has made the headlines for his off-field behaviour, but are City fans tired of his antics or still finding them hilarious? Find out as we bring you a selection of the best reaction Tweets, below…

I know people are frustrated with Mendy, but I genuinely believe he has just been unlucky with injuries. A starting caliber LB is needed in the next window, but I don’t think the team should completely give up on Benjamin Mendy. pic.twitter.com/rhPcgXJWBf

Mendy is a quality player and the type of guy our dressing room needs to keep things light and fun – every club needs that guy and he’s ours

2 freak injuries, 5-6 assists in 15 PL games, and 9 clean sheets with him at back. I’m not writing him off just yet. Could use a safe end of season run, and full preseason under his belt (some competition for the position next season too)
