Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on the social media site Twitter to the latest rumours linking star playmaker Christian Eriksen with a move away from north London.
According to reports in the last few days, the Danish international could be on his way out of the refurbished White Hart Lane, which will be Spurs’ home stadium by that stage, in the summer. With Leicester City and England starlet James Maddison reportedly being lined up as a replacement.
Eriksen arrived at Tottenham in the summer transfer window of 2013 from Dutch giants Ajax for a mere £11 million. That summer, Spurs spent in excess of £100 mil trying to replace Gareth Bale and Eriksen has undoubtedly been the best of those seven high-profile signings.
Since, the devilish attacking midfielder has helped Spurs, with almost 50 goals in nearly 200 appearances, improve their Premier League fortunes and finish in the top six in every season he’s been at the club. But the rumours linking him with moves to sides such as Real Madrid never seem to go away and always keep Spurs fans on edge.
