Hansi Flick – The Right Man in the Right Place at the Right Time

Germany 2018 | 2

It might be the days of happiness for the Germans after a long, challenging period. After beating North Macedonia, they became the first team to qualify for the FIFA 2022 World Cup.

After winning the World Cup in 2014, the team was slowly declining under Joachim Low. France knocked out the four-time World Champions in the 2016 Euros. The only relief that the team had was winning the Confederations Cup with a young squad. But that was not enough for the team. The small cracks within the team were exposed during the 2018 World Cup when they were knocked out in the group stages, pathetically with just one win against Sweden. From that day onwards, there were noises to remove Joachim Low from the managerial position. But the federation gave some more time to Low to set a team with youngsters. But after a lengthy discussion, the federation and Low agreed that he would leave the team after the Euros. Last May, they announced that Hansi Flick would take over as the manager of the German National Team. With Flick in charge, Bundesliga betting is an interesting decision.

Hansi Flick knows German football all in all. He was the assistant of Low from 2006 to 2014. He was also an integral part of the team when they won the World Cup in 2014. Low used to consider him as an efficient man, which every team needs.

Flick took charge of Bayern Munich after they had poor performances under Nico Kovac. He was the assistant coach during that time. Bayern appointed him as the interim manager. Later after the good performances, he was in charge of the team as a full-time manager. Under him, Bayern Munich had one of the best, successful campaigns in their history. They won the treble for the second time and completed the six trophy haul the following year. They were one of the most fearful teams in Europe under Flick. It was also the best year for Flick as an individual. He won the award for Europe’s Best Coach.

All these years, the main aim of Flick was to manage the National Team. That’s why he decided to leave Bayern suddenly at the end of the last season. It was an unexpected decision. To leave a team where he was comfortable didny make sense. But it was his ultimate aim. He took charge of the team during the transitional period. Under him, it was rejuvenation time for the team.

After a long dark period, the skies above Germany looks clearer and brighter. They trust Flick and his tactics. He took charge of Bayern when they had some bad results. But within months, he converted them into a threatening team. Just like this, the fans hope that the good days will come back for the Bavarians in the future. With all the brightest young players, the tomorrows of the German National Team look safe in Hansi Flick’s hands.
