With barely 30 minutes on the clock, Turkey’s Irfan Kahveci scored a goal, from a pass from Hakan Çalhanoğlu, and plugged one back for Turkey. Turkey were unable to score any more goals.
In the 68th minute, Xherdan Shaqiri scored a goal, with an assist by Steven Zuber, to increase the lead for Switzerland. The 3-1 goal was the last one of the game.
The results in the last qualifying round mean that Switzerland finish in third place and Turkey in fourth. Switzerland secured their spot in the playoffs.
