Manchester United fans have been reacting on the social media site Twitter this afternoon as club legend Paul Scholes was named Oldham Athletic manager.
Scholes spent his entire playing career at Old Trafford, helping the club to 11 Premier League titles, two UEFA Champions Leagues and three FA Cups, among other trophies and accolades.
But now, aged 44 and six years after his retirement in 2013, the England legend has been handed his first professional job in management.
He will take the reins at Sky Bet League Two strugglers Oldham immediately and will be hoping to steer them away from the relegation zone and a drop out of the Football League in what remains of 2018/2019.
His first match in charge at Boundary Park will be the visit of Yeovil Town tomorrow night, where he will hope for the perfect welcome party in the form of three points against the Somerset outfit. Check out some of the best reaction Tweets from United fans below…
