Stars to watch

Messi, the Argentine, has won the Ballon d’Or seven times, with Cristiano Ronaldo closely behind with 5. This could be their last chance to make a good impression at a World Cup.

According to his high standards, Lionel Messi’s start to the season with Paris Saint-Germain has been disappointing. Only two goals have been scored since he arrived in the French city.

Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid holds the all-time scoring record with 115 goals in international football history. Since his return to Manchester United at the start of the 2021/22 season, Ronaldo has scored 12 goals in the Premier League.

Even though he’s only 23, Kylian Mbappé already has a World Cup championship medal. He scored a great goal in his team’s 2018 World Cup title-winning 4-2 victory over Croatia in the finals. He has 15 goals and ten assists in his last ten PSG games before his second World Cup involvement this summer.

Neymar Jr., Brazil’s outstanding forward, is in Paris. Just as he did with Brazil at the 2016 Rio Olympics, he hopes to win the World Cup with the South American nation.

Brazil superstar Pele scored 71 international goals for his country. With 71 goals, Neymar is second only to Pele on the all-time list. When it comes to the future of Brazilian football, Vinicius Junior and Real Madrid’s rising star are two of the brightest prospects in the country’s ranks.

Who is Still to Qualify?

Intercontinental games in June will fill the remaining two spots. This means that Peru will play Costa Rica in the knockout stages. United Arab Emirates vs. Australia winner will face Peru in the next round.

The final slot will be shared between the two countries that both win. Because Russia invaded Ukraine, the game had to be postponed and will now take place in June.

However, FIFA is yet to set a date for the rescheduled qualification.

After falling to North Macedonia in qualification, Italy was knocked out of the tournament for the second year. This was by far the most unexpected development.
